When you are in a tough time and in need of peace, do you know how to access the nurture of God to comfort you and help you recover from adversity? Being able to engage nurture can literally turn everything around. But many don’t have a compass for what nurture looks like and how it can help you walk in peace and overcome.
Nurture is the capacity of God’s love to bring you comfort, calm your heart and give you the instruction you need to overcome.
The problem is that we live in a culture that lacks nurture. We don’t know what it’s like to receive nurture nor how to give nurture to ourselves. Therefore, we struggle to take in peace during the storms of life.
Nurture and the Holy Spirit
Do you know what one of the Holy Spirit’s job is? It’s to help keep you in peace and to remind you of truth with the comfort and nurture of God. He is the Comforter. He executes the nurturing heart of God.
Now let me get this straight. His job is not to lead you into a comfortable life, but to bring you comfort as you face mountains and storms in life.
That’s why my wife and I have spent countless hours helping people to restore their compass for nurture. If you know how to receive nurture from God, you can recover your strength, rebound from setbacks and remain grounded in the midst of deep struggles.
Nurture and Truth
When you are being nurtured by God, you’ll be able to hear the Holy Spirit bearing witness to truth that says:
“You are more than a conqueror.”
“You are not alone.”
“I will never leave you.”
That nurture calms us and strengthen us. It brings about peace in our hearts. It helps us recover from our wounds so we can get back into the journey.
Recovering Nurture
People who struggle to connect to the Holy Spirit often lack nurture. They do not have references for what nurture is like, so they often don’t know how to receive it. But the Holy Spirit is here to comfort you, to empower you and to remind you of what the Master has said.
During certain trials, where you may feel hopeless and alone, the Holy Spirit speaks truth, coming directly from the heart of the Father that says, “You never have to feel alone. I am always here. I am with you. I will bring you comfort and true peace.”
If we can connect to this, it changes our perspective and establishes us for greater breakthrough.
