God Loves Me, Even in My Deadness

When a person accepts Christ, we communicate how much God loves them as they enter in. We may even tell them that God loves them right where they are at. But after that, so many believers lose sight of the vast love.

Did God’s love for you vanish or lessen, once you became a believer?

I know for me, I knew in my mind that God loved me, but I didn’t experience that in my heart in an ongoing basis. Most of my life, I felt that God just tolerated me, more than loved me.

Until I learned that God loved me as my Father, even in my deadness and struggles.

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:4-6 (NKJV)

He loved me before He raised me . . .

He did not love me when I accepted Jesus. He loved me even before I made that decision.

Maybe you are struggling with some dead areas of sin and trespass now. Are you still aware that His great love is there for you?

Isn’t it so easy to think, “He loved me when I was a sinner and received me in. But that’s my one shot. If I screw up, that love may not be there.”

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.Romans 5:8 (NKJV)
