As a part of your healing journey, it will be important to understand how to live in healthy boundaries, because healthy boundaries help us to experience the best out of our relationships. Healthy relationships provide the best environment for us to heal and grow in our mental health. However, healthy relationships do not flourish without healthy boundaries.
The truth is, while boundaries are important, so many of us have no idea how to practice healthy relationship boundaries. Our upbringings had so many violations of boundaries that we don’t know what health looks like, let alone how to practice it. We did not see boundaries modeled, nor were many taught and encouraged on how to practice healthy patterns.
So what I want to do is talk about what relationship boundaries are, why we struggle with boundaries and then how to establish boundaries in a healthy way.
