Podcasting Live Streaming Equipment
Here is a list of the many tools I use or have used along my podcasting/live streaming journey. Please note: some of these links are affiliate links which bring a commission back to me if you choose to purchase any of them.
Audio Mixers:
Rodecaster Pro: a fantastic mixer. I went from racks of equipment down to this one mixer for all I needed to do for audio. Awesome sound quality and great reliability. (May be hard to find now.)
Rodecaster Pro 2: This mixer takes the first Rodecaster up a notch to new features. I love the better customization, the interaction you can have with software on your computer and of course the voice FX. Note: This mixer has given me issues, due to a specific USB setup on my PC that did not work 100% well with it and cuts out. If you have watched my lives you have witnessed this. But I continue to use it and do all I can to make it work because I really enjoy the features of this mixer. I have not found anything better.
Rodecaster Pro Duo: I have used this for short periods of time. If it is only you and maybe one other person on a mic, this is a great choice.
Microphones and Stands:
Shure SM7B Dynamic Microphone: I have tried so many microphones. I have high standards for sound and in addition, I have hearing issues, so I need a strong mic that picks up well and doesn’t need extra boating. This is a home run mic and worth the investment.
Audio-Technica ATR2100-USB Cardioid Dynamic USB/XLR Microphone: This is an amazing mic that is very reasonable in price. You can plug it into a mixer or directly into your computer via USB.
IXTECH Mic Boom Arm Stand LP Microphone Stand Low Profile Microphone Arm: this is the mic stand that I use in my videos.
RODE PSA1 Swivel Mount Studio Microphone Boom Arm I have also used this mic stand.
Camera Gear
As of now, I am using Sony cameras for three camera angles I use in videos.
Sony A7iv: this is the main camera you see in my videos
Sigma 16-28 mm F2.8 DG DN Lens for Sony E Mount: I use this on my main camera, the Sony A7iv
Sony A6100: One of these is used in my stand up teaching videos. I also have a second one I use for Melissa when do our live shows together.
Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Sony E Mount: this is the lens I use for Melissa on our live broadcast with a Sony A6100
Studio Lighting
Elgato with Stand and Clamp: These are the only two lights that are on me. You can control them from your phone or your computer.
Elgato Key Light Air with Table Stand: I have two of these to light Melissa for the Sunday Night Live
LED Video Lights with Tripod: I use these for my stand up videos, but I hang them off a pole that hangs from my ceiling. I use camera mount clamps to hold them.
LED Lights: I use these lights as accent lighting and I have used them for lighting my videos in the past
Stand Floor Lights: These are great to provide a glow lighting to a wall.
Capture Card
Blackmagic Design DeckLink Quad HDMI Recorder: this is the card I current use, where I plug the HDMI cable from my camera to the computer. You are able to use 4 cameras with this. (I used to use the Elgato, but I believe it was causing conflicts with my Rodecaster Pro 2)
Elgato Cam Link 4K: This is an easy way to connect one camera to your computer.
PC Streaming Gear
PC Build with IBuyPower: this is where my latest PC comes from. I have the RDY Lancool 006
Elgato Stream Deck This was the first studio controller I used to change scenes in OBS. After a while, I knew I was going to need a bigger one.
Elgato Stream Deck XL This stream deck gives you much more room to program more scenes. I use this for every broadcast
Elgato Stream Deck I use this to fine tune my Elgato lights so the exposure and color are right
