Today I open up about how a punishment-based relationship with God quietly erodes your mental, emotional and relational health. I share from my own journey how the lie of disconnection, fear, and chronic condemnation can create a constant sense of “I’m not safe,” leading to anxiety, hypervigilance, torment, perfectionism, OCD patterns, depression, and deep loneliness. Together, we walk through how loving safety gets compromised and distorted, impacting how we relate to God, ourselves and the worlda around us.
I also talk about how so many believers live in such a way that they are bracing for the next blow, wondering if God is secretly against them and anticipating when the “hammer will fall.” I then invite you to begin a new pathway of healing: experiencing God as love, learning what it means to relate to Him as a safe Father, and letting perfect love, not fear and punishment. This renewal can reshape how you see yourself, your future and your faith journey. If you’ve ever wrestled with intrusive “God is mad at me” thoughts, scrupulosity, or a nagging sense that you’re never enough for God, this teaching will give you language, insight and next steps for your healing and freedom journey, without rushing the process or oversimplifying the struggle.
