10 Ways to Stop Being Afraid of Your Thoughts

10 Ways to Stop Being Afraid of Your Thoughts

If you’re exhausted from battling your own thoughts, this video is for you. In this teaching, I’m opening up about a struggle that’s been very real in my own life: being afraid of my thoughts—especially those intrusive, “where did THAT come from?” thoughts that seem to hijack your peace and spin you into anxiety, shame, or panic.

So many of us live like we’re under constant internal threat, afraid of what might pop into our minds, afraid of what those thoughts mean about us, and even afraid that our fear might be coming from God. In this session, I’m going to walk you through 10 powerful mindset shifts that helped me stop letting every scary thought turn into a mental emergency, break out of obsessive “what if?” loops and catastrophic thinking, and calm my nervous system instead of obeying its every alarm. I’ll show you how to see your thoughts in a totally new light—without obsessing over them, arguing with them, or trying to make them instantly disappear.

If you wrestle with intrusive or “taboo” thoughts, religious OCD or perfectionism, constant checking and analyzing, or the nagging feeling that you’re a bad person because of what passes through your mind, I believe this message will be both a relief and a reset for your heart. I’ll share personal stories, practical shifts you can start using today, and a faith-based perspective that helped me realize I am not the thoughts that show up, fear is not my advisor, and God is not speaking to me through torment and panic.
