Join me in this live Q&A as I address questions that have to do with confusion over the subject of taking thoughts captive, mindfulness, meditation, judging, the bema seat judgment, “heaven’s promise” cognative distortion and narcissism.
“My question is the line between letting thoughts float by vs “taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ…” The mindfulness philosophy of being neutral and not engaging assertively with our thoughts comes from the Buddhist perspective. Can you clarify how this can coexist with Biblical teaching?”
“Can you give me your thoughts on the judgement seat of Christ mentioned in 2 Corinthians 5:10 and what that will look like. Paul says in Romans 8:1 that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. However Paul talks about the judgement seat of Christ we all must appear before to give an account for things done in the body weather good or bad. My understanding of this judgement is to receive or lose eternal rewards for how we\’ve lived our lives. I think it’s easy to do a bunch of “good work” from our own strength to convince ourselves we’re doing them for God when really we’re just trying to gain his love and approval. Standing before the Lord explaining my life doesn’t sound comforting. After all judgement is a performance evaluation.”
I will also address a question regarding a cognative distortion called “Heaven’s Promise.” Is CBT teaching that having faith is a cognative distortion?
Is there any hope for a narcissist and salvation?
