🔴 Wisdom for Hard Seasons | 5 Unhealthy Patterns in Leaders | Forgiveness, Work and Hatred Confusion in Scripture

In this broadcast I take you on a journey that brings together biblical insight and mental–emotional health, especially around the struggles many believers face. I share honestly from my own battle with chronic illness (Epstein-Barr), fatigue, and brain fog and how I have been in a learning journey, where I learn to accept where I’m at in this chapter without giving up. I also explore Philippians and bring out 5 unhealthy issues that make it hard to find ministry partners in the faith. We talk about what it looks like to value character over performance, both in our personal lives and in church culture and why like‑minded, like‑hearted relationships can be so hard to find.

From there, I respond to a number of questions that sit right at the intersection of the Bible, OCD, and intrusive thoughts. We talk about passages like Matthew 5 (calling someone “raca”), Matthew 5:23–24 (reconciliation at the altar, those who have “something against you”) and 2 Thessalonians 3:10 (“if a man does not work, he shall not eat”).

Along the way we get very practical about intrusive thoughts (including sexual and “gay” intrusive thoughts), why everyone has them, why some of us obsess over them and how to begin breaking the compulsion cycle.

My heart in this episode is to help you see God, yourself, and others through biblical context of the Father’s love and the grace of Jesus Christ. Whether you battle intrusive thoughts, feel condemned by certain Bible passages, struggle to feel close to Jesus or are simply worn out by chronic health issues and life pressures, my prayer is that this conversation will give you language, comfort, and a next step.
