đź”´ Scrupulosity and the Performance-Driven Gospel | Hobbies, Idolatry and Coveting | Marriage Betrayal and Submission Confusion | Social Awkwardness

In this Wednesday Live, I take you with me into some of the deepest and most painful questions many believers are wrestling with in their mental, emotional, and relationship journey. At the same time, I had an opportunity to bring some exhortations to encourage you in your healing and freedom! I address salvation OCD and scrupulosity—those relentless loops of “Am I really saved?” “Did I lose my salvation?” “What if I was never saved at all?”—and how church culture, altar calls, and performance-driven Christianity often intensify that spiritual anxiety and disconnection from God.

From there, I dig into more obsessive-fueled topics, including idolatry and coveting obsessions—what it actually means to “put God first,” how hobbies and interests we enjoy can get interpreted as “idols,” and why so many sensitive, earnest believers feel like they’re walking on eggshells with covetousness.

I also address some very raw marriage and sexuality questions: long-term pornography struggles, intrusive fantasies, painful comparisons to other women, and the devastating impact those confessions can have on a wife’s heart. I talk about the difference between repentance and just wanting to feel better, how lust and addiction shape intimacy, and why quick demands for sex after betrayal can feel more like trauma than healing. I touch on tough passages around divorce, adultery, “looking with lust,” and “your body is not your own,” as well as how these verses are often weaponized in unhealthy, authoritarian dynamics instead of being seen through the lens of love, grace, and mutual honor.

From there, I step into questions about submission, “wives submit in everything,” “children obey in everything,” “slaves obey in everything,” and how black-and-white, literal interpretation can create fear, legalism, and confusion instead of a healthy, Christ-centered picture of leadership, mutual submission, and relational safety in the home.

I respond to a young adult wrestling with feeling mentally rigid, socially disconnected, and overwhelmed by self-awareness—struggling to be present in conversations and feeling robotic in social interactions. I also address someone working through pornography addiction, suicidal OCD, and a childhood shaped by an alcoholic, narcissistic father and an emotionally shut-down kind of mother.

If you are wrestling with salvation doubts, scrupulosity, OCD, perfectionism, church trauma, health anxiety, marriage pain, sexual brokenness, or you simply feel stuck in performance Christianity and starved for a deeper experience of God’s love and grace, this broadcast will speak into those places. I don’t just hit the surface issues—I name the patterns, the theological confusion, the mental health battles, and the relationship dynamics that so many believers are silently carrying, and I invite you into a more honest, grace-filled journey of healing and renewal in Christ.
