🔴 Keeping Selishness, Narcissism and Conceit out of the Church | Biblical Humility | Brain Rewiring

In this Sunday live, I open by sharing a humorous-but-painfully-real Church Lady rebuke that will put a smile on your fce. From there, I dive into Philippians 2 and unpack what Scripture actually means by “selfish ambition” and “conceit,” tracing the Greek word studies and how they describe the dynamics we now call narcissism—especially in church culture and leadership. I explore how spiritual abuse, politics in the church, factionalism, confusion, and every evil work tie into selfish ambition and envy, and how this intersects with mental health struggles like anxiety, survival mode, obsessive introspection, and feeling chronically unsafe in relationships.

I also spend time wrestling through big questions: how do we discern narcissistic patterns versus normal selfishness? What does biblical humility and “lowliness of mind” really look like without becoming a doormat, people-pleaser or codependent? How does the Father’s love reframe our identity, move us from orphan thinking to sonship, and shift us from self-protection into healthier relational patterns where we can “look up and look out” instead of endlessly staring at our own brokenness?

In the live Q&A, I interact with real-time questions about healing from narcissistic and confusing environments, navigating heartbreak and broken relationships, wrestling with whether you’re “the narcissist,” processing decisions like whether to move closer to family for caregiving support, and working through everyday struggles like indecision, survival thinking, and self-condemnation in the context of faith, Scripture, and emotional/mental health. If these themes hit home—narcissism in the church, spiritual abuse, OCD-like introspection, perfectionism, and learning to live in the Father’s love—this broadcast is for you.
