One of the most powerful experiences a parent can bring to their children’s life is the ability to minister to their heart. Yet when talking with many parents, they admit to never being shown how to do this or what it even looks like. Today we want to share the power of ministering to your children and what that can look like for your family.
The goal in ministering to our children is to create a comfortable and healthy environment where they feel safe to receive. In addition, we want to create powerful references, so that prayer and confession can be experiences they look forward to, not avoid or roll their eyes over.
We want to build confidence with our children as we approach many issues they face with a grounded spiritual understanding, along with practices they can apply. This equips them to rise up as the overcomers they are really called to be.
In our last episode we went over foundational ways to build that relationship. Through family huddles, exposure to them watching you read the Word, engage each other as spouses, pray together, worship together, and forming great family habits all breathe life into you as a family unit. Today we want to specifically talk about what it can look like to minister to the heart of your children.
In this episode, we cover the following areas:
- The two most important things to remember when it comes to ministering to your children.
- How to lay a foundation of relationship to help them engage God.
- Helping them to address areas of struggle and things they need to overcome.
- What does it look like to create a safe atmosphere for being ministered to.
