On this week’s episode we want to discuss “Why Spiritual Passivity is Killing Us.”
Many people carry a very passive posture in their life, but do not realize it. They often ask God to do things He has commanded us to do. We often wait for life to change or circumstances to shift, while not engaging our personal responsibility to fight the good fight, engage the battle that wages and stand in the gap for issues that arise in the community.
Spiritual passivity is a parasite that subtly infects our culture. It causes churches to remain stagnant, because issues are not confronted and blocks are not faced. Passivity causes leaders to become disarmed. Fathers who are passive in their homes give room for confusion and the enemy’s devices to run rampant. Passivity keeps men and women alike in a paralyzed state. We lack the motivation to push through resistance. We wait for things to change, meanwhile, we then lack the energy to press in further.
Do you find that you or those around you are battling with this sense of exhaustion, laziness or just general sense of apathy towards life; meaning a lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern. It may be over your own journey or you’re watching those around you maybe a spouse or people you are interacting with just seem to be numbed out to their spiritual life and heart.
